Homemade Chocolate Chip Cookies

There is nothing better than enjoying a nice, warm chocolate chip cookie. For as long as I can remember, I almost always have the ingredients I need to make them at least once or twice a month. My girls just love to help mommy in the kitchen, especially when I am baking! Its such a fun time to have them help me measure the ingredients, pour them all into the bowl, and of course “taste test” each batch. So, without further ado…here is my recipe for Homemade Chocolate Chip Cookies.

2 1/4 cups Flour (little known fact about me…I like to store mine in the freezer)
1 tsp. Baking Soda
1 tsp. Salt
1 cup Butter (room temperature)
1 cup Sugar
3/4 cup Brown Sugar, packed
1 tsp. Vanilla Extract
2 large Eggs
2 cups (12 oz) of Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chip Cookies (I just get whatever is on sale)

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
  2. In a small bowl, combine your Flour, Baking Soda and Salt – then set aside.
  3. In a larger bowl, combine your Butter, Sugar, Brown Sugar and Vanilla Extract – then, beat with mixer until creamy.
  4. Beat in Eggs, one at a time.
  5. Slowly, stir in flour mixture – until small bowl is empty.
  6. Take a large spoon ( I actually use a Tea spoon – used to stir Iced Tea) and stir in your Chocolate Chips.

  7. Drop a round teaspoonful (or whatever size you would like your cookies to be) onto your ungreased cookie sheets.
  8. Bake for 8-10 minutes.
  9. Cool on pan for about 1 min – before, moving to a cooling rack.
  10. Enjoy!

This recipe (if made in teaspoonful size), will make about 4 dozen 2-inch cookies. Perfect for sharing at a family get together, church, class party, etc. I love to eat mine with a mug of cold milk, how about you?

  1. I so agree! Warm chocolate chip cookies, fresh out of the oven, are the best. Now I need to go make some.
