CVS Grand Plan – 2/28 – 3/6

Well, it isn’t a FAB week, but it is a good one.  If you don’t like doing the Mail-In rebates, then this week is probably a ’skip’ week for you.  There are 2 Mail-In rebates and they make the plan work.  :-)

Qty Description Each Subtotal Cpn & EBS Final Cost
1 Power Bar Energy Blasts **See note $1.50 $1.50 ($1.50) $0.00
1 Soft Soap Body Wash $4.99 $4.99 ($5.00) ($0.01)
1 Aveeno Ageless Day/Night/Eye $19.99 $19.99 ($20.00) ($0.01)
1 Prevacid 24ct **See note $19.99 $19.99 ($23.99) ($4.00)

  SUBTOTAL   $46.47   ($4.02)

1 Soft Soap All You Mag (Mar) *other cpn below ($1.00) ($1.00)
1 Aveeno Printable ($5.00) ($5.00)
1 Prevacid Printable ($4.00) ($4.00)

  Total Before ECB   $40.47

ECB – Power Bar Blasts (Freebie) (Limit 1)   ($1.50)
  ECB – Body Wash (Limit 1)   ($4.00)
  ECB – Aveeno ECB $5 WYB 1 (Limit 1)   ($5.00)
MAIL IN REBATE – Aveeno   ($10.00)
MAIL IN REBATE – Prevacid (Parade Magazine 2/28)   ($19.99)

  Final Total After ECB   ($0.02)
Some people received a coupon for these Energy Blast Gels in their 1/3 or 1/10 SS insert.  I was not one of the few.  :-(
You must register for the Aveeno printable and Mail In rebate.  Be Ready to print when you register.  Cuz, right after you submit the form a box will come up saying your request has been submitted and then just hang on a sec and the coupon printer will come up.
The Rebate form in the USA Weekend / Parade Magazine is supposedly going to be for up to $25.99 for a 42ct.  (less $4 because they are assuming you would use a coupon)

Another Soft Soap coupon can be printed HERE, however it is only for 75c off.  And some people have reported problems getting the coupon to print.  So, I suggest using the one from the All You Magazine.  If you haven’t yet signed up for All You and would like to, Take a look at my post HERE.

Another side note: The Mail-in rebate for the Prevacid came in today’s (Sunday’s) paper.  After reading the fine print (it states that they will reimburse you the purchase price less $4), I believe the rebate would be for $19.99 less the $4…so $15.99, not $19.99.  To get a better deal, I would just go to Walgreens to get the Prevacid.  See my Walgreens Grand Plan.

Happy CVS’ing this week!

Walgreens Grand Plan – 2/28 – 3/6

Well, I don’t do a grand plan every week for Walgreens, but this week….I couldn’t resist.  There are so many great deals.  Please note that the Prevacid Mail In Rebate is only one per household, so if you take advantage of that deal in the CVS Grand Plan, you won’t be able to take advantage of it here.  Also, Walgreens Register Rewards are funny.  They aren’t as easy to use as the CVS Extra Care Bucks…so, take note.  You cannot use a Register Reward on the item that you received the reward for and get another reward (referred to as “Rolling”).  Also, the Register Reward counts as a MANUFACTURER’S Coupon.  So, that means you need to have the same number or more items as coupons.  So if you are buying 2 items, and you have 2 coupons for those 2 items, you CANNOT use a Register Reward to help pay the balance.  You will need to add a cheap filler item to use your reward.  OR, you can find other stuff that you need in the store that is a good/great price, and use the Register Reward to pay for those items.  Ok, all that disclaimer stuff out the way…..Here is my Grand Plan.  Note, that it relies very heavily on the Prevacid Mail In Rebate to keep the cost down.

  RR – Tylenol Cold – $5 WYB 2   ($5.00)

  Final Total After ECB   $5.40

Notes:
The Nyquil/Dayquil coupon for $2 off expires 2/28….If you won’t be doing the grand plan today (Sunday), then you will want to use the $1.50 coupons found in the PG2/7

Another side note: The Mail-in rebate for the Prevacid came in today’s (Sunday’s) paper.  After reading the fine print (it states that they will reimburse you the purchase price less $4), I believe the rebate would be for $25.99 less the $4…so $21.99, not $23.99.  This is confusing, because it could also be for $19.99 if the instant coupon shows up on the same line as the Prevacid and it shows that the cost was just $23.99.  Ok, so now that I confused you too….that was my heads up.

Walgreens Grand Plan 1/3 – 1/9 (updated)

Rarely do I do a Grand Plan for Walgreens.  First, because the Register Rewards that you earn expire sooooooo fast, you only have 2 weeks to use them.  Second, the Register Rewards are considered Manufacturer’s coupons.  So, that means when you go to purchase an item…and you have a coupon for that item and you want to pay for it with a Register Reward, the cash register will beep and it will not be allowed.  Because, TECHNICALLY, you are using 2 Manufacturer’s coupons on the same item.  SOOOOOO, to get around this, I have to say that I rarely shop at Walgreens unless the deals are just too good to pass up.  This week is that exception.  There are just too many good deals for things I need and use, that I can’t pass the store up.  So, I have made a grand plan for the week….I will stick to this plan.  In order to get more than the limit (say on the Electrosol), you will need to do separate transactions.  When you start doing separate transactions, things can get a little confusing as to what RR was issued for what product (because you can’t use it on the same product and get another RR).    So, my suggestion, plan your trip like this:
Have a separate transaction at the end that has the stuff you NEED that are at good prices and use your RR’s on these items to get them out of your hand and ensure they don’t expire.
You can plan a trip to Albertsons’ (in the phx area) immediately following your Walgreens trip.  (Albertson’s here will accept competitor coupons and Register Rewards qualify).
Or, last, divide the grand plan into 2 plans….where you puchase the top half and use the Register Rewards earned to purchase the second half.  If you do this, you will need to add filler items (such as a 19c pocket folder, a 25c peice of candy, yadda yadda)….

Now on to the Grand Plan:

UPDATE: The John Frieda Root Awakening products aren’t generating the Register Rewards (Thanks Tara for letting me know).  Apparently these are only being generated by the Frizz Ease line of John Frieda.  Please let me know if anyone else has had any issues.  (this is one of the reasons I don’t do Walgreens grand plans…  :-0)

CVS Grand Plan – 11/22 – 11/28 and Black Friday Preview

Here are a couple of the deals for this week that are week long.  As soon as the Black Friday ad is out, I will post an official grand plan…This week, I would plan to just shop the Black Friday sales and get these at that time.  :-)   I am also posting a sneak peek at the Black Friday deals….but remember these aren’t official.  I would recommend though, that you go thru this post and print all the printables NOW.  So, they don’t run out of prints before you need them.
