Rarely do I do a Grand Plan for Walgreens.  First, because the Register Rewards that you earn expire sooooooo fast, you only have 2 weeks to use them.  Second, the Register Rewards are considered Manufacturer’s coupons.  So, that means when you go to purchase an item…and you have a coupon for that item and you want to pay for it with a Register Reward, the cash register will beep and it will not be allowed.  Because, TECHNICALLY, you are using 2 Manufacturer’s coupons on the same item.  SOOOOOO, to get around this, I have to say that I rarely shop at Walgreens unless the deals are just too good to pass up.  This week is that exception.  There are just too many good deals for things I need and use, that I can’t pass the store up.  So, I have made a grand plan for the week….I will stick to this plan.  In order to get more than the limit (say on the Electrosol), you will need to do separate transactions.  When you start doing separate transactions, things can get a little confusing as to what RR was issued for what product (because you can’t use it on the same product and get another RR).    So, my suggestion, plan your trip like this:
Have a separate transaction at the end that has the stuff you NEED that are at good prices and use your RR’s on these items to get them out of your hand and ensure they don’t expire.
You can plan a trip to Albertsons’ (in the phx area) immediately following your Walgreens trip.  (Albertson’s here will accept competitor coupons and Register Rewards qualify).
Or, last, divide the grand plan into 2 plans….where you puchase the top half and use the Register Rewards earned to purchase the second half.  If you do this, you will need to add filler items (such as a 19c pocket folder, a 25c peice of candy, yadda yadda)….

Now on to the Grand Plan:

UPDATE: The John Frieda Root Awakening products aren’t generating the Register Rewards (Thanks Tara for letting me know).  Apparently these are only being generated by the Frizz Ease line of John Frieda.  Please let me know if anyone else has had any issues.  (this is one of the reasons I don’t do Walgreens grand plans…  :-0)

My Walgreens did not issue a RR for the John Frieda, it appears that the RR is for the Frizz Ease variety and not the Root Awakening.
