My New Year’s Resolution…

We all make them (even if we try to tell ourselves we won’t)….I have made one this year….it will be to SAVE money! Saving money is always on my ‘to do’ list, but this year, it is coming up higher on the priority list. I have done a lot of things this year to help me acheive that goal….one thing is that I have concentrated on cooking healthy meals (instead of eating out so much) and shopped for those meals within my own pantry. Keeping a well stocked pantry is key to saving money. When items are at rock bottom prices (free or moneymakers), buy enough to last 6 to 12 months. Having that much on hand may seem useless or overkill, but when the item is 10 times as much the next month, you won’t need to buy it. There you are…you saved yourself money on something you needed. Seems too easy, right.

One other thing, is that I take advantage of programs like VocalPoint. They send me samples and full sized items (like the Bounce Dryer Ball and a full sized jar of Olay Regenerist). They send these to me to try out and give the company feedback. Also, they include very high dollar coupons. I would definately recommend signing up for them.

I also signed up for Home Made Simple. They send me a coupon book every few months full of high value coupons for Proctor and Gamble items like Dawn dish soap and Febreze items. These items go on sale regularly and with these coupons, I get a lot of them for free or almost free.

I have also gotten free samples from Freefly’s…if you haven’t tried them, I recommend them as a ’sorta’ one stop shop for free samples. Most of those fres samples come with high-dollar coupons. So, even if you have tried the product, it is worth getting the sample to get the coupon.

A couple other ideas that I have tried in the past….sometimes they come in very handy, other times not so much. CoolSavings and AFullCup. CoolSavings offers online deals and printable coupons, AFullCup offers a coupon database and printables as well.
